CCGA-GCAC.ORG:

INTRODUCTION

Even if you take every possible safety precaution, disaster can strike at any moment. When that happens, you can always count on the volunteers of the CCGA. Can we count on you?

In 2000, CCGA units responded to 1,700 taskings out of 8,000 marine incidents reported in Canada and saved approximately 200 lives. Our members participated in 500 training exercises, conducted 3,000 pleasure craft courtesy checks and participated in 250 boat shows and boating safety displays.

The CCGA receive partial funding from the Government of Canada. These funds are greatly appreciated but the Auxiliary is also required to raise the additional contributions needed to maintain its rescue services, keep its units equipped with the proper search and rescue equipment and to train its members to save lives at sea.

By contributing to the CCGA, individuals, clubs, societies, trusts and companies can help us save more lives.

There are a number of ways that the CCGA raise the funds required to maintain the volunteer rescue service in Canada:
